Saturated bold brushstrokes of blue and red and other areas of saturated color are juxtaposed with areas of off whites and grays. To me this painting has a southwestern feel. It reminds me of John Marin’s paintings when he first visited the high desert in 1929 at Mabel Dodge’s estate in Taos, NM.
